Nintendo DSi LL sells 103k in two days, ripped open in two minutes
Posted by: Gadget Boy in Gadget News on November 24th, 2009

The newer, embiggened Nintendo DSi LL (as it’s known in Tokyo Town) has been available to the kids in Japan since the beginning of the week, and Enterbrain, Inc. is reporting that Nintendo has pushed 103,524 units in its first two days. To perspectivize things, the DSi was snatched up to the tune of about 170,000 units in the same time period, while the PSPgo sold around 28,000 units. To celebrate, the kids at PC Watch have ripped one of these bad boys — and you’ll never guess what they found! (OK, maybe you will.) Check out the link below for the hardcore details — and don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Inside Nintendo’s DSi LL [Nintendo DSi XL]
Posted by: Gadget Boy in Gadget News on November 24th, 2009
Yesterday we saw how the DSi LL (or XL, as it will be known in the US) compares to the Sony PSP-3000. Yeah that 4.2-inch screen is freakin' huge. Now here's a look under the hood. Controller board porn!
PC Watch are the ones who sacrificed their unit in the name of science, and say the unit is well organized, and has an easy to assemble design that should mean benefits in terms of ongoing production costs. [PC Watch via Kotaku]

Posted by: Gadget Boy in Gadget News on November 2nd, 2009

The wildly successful Nintendo DS line has now entered its fourth iteration, with confirmation of the Nintendo DSi LL in the pipeline that is basically a supersized version of the camera-enabled DSi. After all, it gets larger 4.25″ displays on both top and bottom segments compared to the older DSi’s 3.25″, coupled with an extra, bulkier pen with a host of new colors to whet your appetite. Something tells us that Zune lovers might just fall for this since it comes in a similar dark brown color. Out in Japan later this November 21st, it will come with a trio of built-in games, retailing for roughly $220 after conversion which makes it pricier than the Sony PSP-3000 but cheaper than the PSP Go. Do you think the DSi LL will be able to take off in the same manner as its predecessors?
