The standard British plug is a bulky beast. That presents problems to electronics companies trying to minimise the size and weight of their products, and to us, the poor people who have to lug them around.
One design solution has been to incorporate the transformer into the plug, which makes the plug even bulkier but reduces the need for a second portion of bulk. The concept shown in this video takes a more radical approach, mounting the live and neutral prongs on a rod that twists away into a flat-pack slab that's less than 1cm thick.
